Sara Shotton- Head coach |
From a background as a professional dancer Sara trained as a fitness instructor before developing her general gymnastics skills to Club coach level. She founded the club in 1999. Now qualified in Aerobic gymnastics at Senior coach level and as a National judge she is also a British gymnastics tutor / examiner and sits on the regional gymnastics technical committee as secretary for the AG committee. |
Leanne Markey – Club coach- Club Welfare officer |
Leanne is currently studying for a degree in PE at Edge Hill university. A past Aerobic gymnastic competitor she won many titles over 5 years as an individual and in pairs and trios. She is also trained in general gymnastics . Leanne has been a club judge for 4 years and last year qualified as a National judge. Last year she was selected to travel to Slovakia as assistant coach to the head of the GB delegation. On her return she led a workshop in Southport on training techniques. |
Kelsie Buck- Club coach-Club welfare officer |
Kelsie joined the club when she was 6 years old and has enjoyed lots of success as a competitor. She is now working as a coach and choreographer for the club passing on her knowledge and skills. During her competitive years Kelsie was selected by the TC to attend the European training camp in Slovakia in 2005 and the Dutch open in Holland in 2006. Not only a great aerobic competitor Kelsie is also an accomplished hip hop and free style dancer who competed with the team for 4 years, winning the British in 2006. Selected to compete in the FIG code in 2005 Kelsie suffered an injury which forced her to retire from competitionKelsie wants a career in sports coaching when she leaves school and hope eventually to run her own club.

Janet Read-Club coach-club first aider |
Janet comes from a dance background, trained at the Elliott-Clarke school in Liverpool she worked as a professional dancer traveling all over the world. She now works for Wigan council as an activities officer and is qualified as a fitness instructor and first aider. Last year Janet also qualified as a club judge and is hoping to upgrade to National this year. |
Rachel Bromilow- Assistant club coach |
Rachel was a successful AG competitor and is now working at the club as a coach and choreographer. During her competitive career she won many titles in her pairs and trio’s. In 2004 she qualified to move into FIG but decided to train as a coach passing on her skills to others. This year Rachel will be competing in the dance team going to Holland and she hopes to gain her Club coach award and Club judge. |
Dawn McKenzie-Assistant club coach |
Dawn has a background in artistic gymnastics and competitive body building/figure. From a background in the fitness industry she has developed her knowledge of Aerobic gymnastics. She currently heads an aim higher team at Southport college. She hopes to gain her Club coach qualification this year. |
